DIY Electrolysis

Introduction

This project is a guide for building a galvanic electrolysis device for hair removal. It is heavily based on scd31's original design (thank you for making it available!), but has been optimised to be significantly cheaper to get assembled with JLCPCB.

Some additional through-hole soldering is required, but I sincerely believe anyone with two working hands and a soldering iron can do it. If you've never soldered before, you can always practice on some dead electronics first.

Note: DIY electrolysis carries risk of permanent scarring if done improperly. If something goes wrong, only you are responsible.

At the time of writing, the per-unit cost is about £23 (including all components, materials, shipping, and tax). Try to leverage economies of scale if you can! Talk to your friends and others in your area to see if people want to group buy. Community does not exist without you reaching out to others and making it happen. It is more important than ever to support one another in queer communities, so use this as an opportunity to do so!
